The MEL® 90 is designed to perform various refractive corneal procedures including PRK.

PRK surface ablation can be used to correct myopia within a range of up to -12 D, and up to -3 D astigmatism and hyperopia within a range of up to +3 D, and up to +3 D astigmatism.

For surface ablations the MEL 90 uses an extra gentle mode which includes adaptation of the plume removal air flow. The MEL 90 sculpts the corneal tissue to correct the visual defect in just few seconds.
